Understanding Mindbody Connection - Energy

After the completion of a Medical Intuition course I had been working on, I started wondering, where have I given my power away.

Carolyn Myss, teacher of Medical Intuition, talks about letting go of your energy or power from your body throughout the day and leaving it where you have been. So why and where have I done that?

I started to feel increased pain in my lower abdomen, assuming the pain was from a previous injury and related to the L5-S1 vertebrates. At times, the back-injury pain has radiated from the back and into the front. I assumed that was the case and committed to move and meditate more. The pain got worse. I went to my osteopath, who said I had inflammation in my abdomen. Then I saw my chiropractor. I also made an appointment with my family physician. He did the usual process of how doctors try to diagnose people with pain. He x-rayed my abdomen, took blood and a urinalysis. All of these tests were negative and didn’t indicate any underlying condition. The physician concluded I had a bowel infection and put me on antibiotics.

The severe pain began to subside. However, I felt there was something more. I was exhausted, still had moderate pain and my head felt foggy. After 3 weeks, I decided there needs to be another way. As I continue to learn more about the energies in my body and embrace the knowledge of Reiki and Chakras. I connected and listened to the messages, I determined the pain was located in my sacrum, or Sacral Chakra. Or was it?

During my training in the Second Level, Reiki course, I became aware that the symptoms in my body also included the Solar Plexus chakra. This chakra is where upward-flowing Earth energy meets downward-flowing energy called apana (circulation of energy). I had an energy block! Solar Plexus chakra meaning, personal power in relation to the outside world, honour of oneself. Fears: That you have too much responsibility.

What had I done?

I just didn’t want to deal with it anymore. Too much work to figure this out.

Another Aha moment on my path of healing. I have been a caregiver to my dad for several years. As he declines the caregiving responsibilities increase. The Solar Plexus encompasses many physical areas in the body. I believe that my adrenals, small intestines and stomach are involved.

Even though I knew how to listen to my body, I choose to give my power away to others. I was overwhelmed, too much to do, too much to think about. I have been so busy taking care of others, that I just wanted someone else to take of me. I do believe healing is ‘Wholistic’ and encompasses many healers. I remembered once again, that this also includes me. I am getting closer to solving the energetic disease of adrenal excess.

I choose to let go of control. I decided that I cannot take responsibility for someone else’s health choices if they are not prepared to take responsibility for their own. The only thing I can do is love unconditionally. That’s loving myself first by doing self-care, physically and emotionally.

My healing journey is filled with amazing ups, some scary and exhausting downs. Through all this I have learned more about me, others and the world. For healing brings awareness, connection and wholeness.

I aspire to see a healthcare-system that looks at all parts of us, not just the physical symptoms. Those physical symptoms are an indicator that something else is going on. A healthcare-system where questions are asked that support the patient to connect to themselves, their circumstances, their bodies messages, their emotions, etc.
