Understanding the MindBody Connection - Bruises

We all get them.

Where did that come from?

Do you pay attention when you hurt yourself?

Do you walk into the corner of the cupboard or a table and just get on with it?

Days later, you notice a bruise. You question where did that come from?

Ah, you remember, and your body has shown you.

What is that bruise saying to you?

You hurt me and didn’t take the time to observe, apologize or find out what was needed at that moment.

Take the time to pause and ask your body:

What am I missing?

Am I disrespecting myself, others, or the environment around me?

Where else in your life do you need to pay attention to?

Did you walk away after you injured yourself and berated yourself for being klutzy or stupid for walking into the table or hitting your elbow on the corner of the cupboard?

No judgment here; it’s another opportunity to take the time to pause and observe. It’s in those moments you will realize that you have not been paying attention; to your body, to your environment and to the energies you are holding onto.

Are you too busy to recognize the danger that may cause an injury? Were you in your head, thinking of what needs to be done next? Were you angry about something or someone?

Pause for a moment and ask: What does this bruise have to teach me?

  1. Be more loving to me

  2. Take better care of myself

  3. Take time to observe your environment

  4. Listen – to your body

  5. Slow down

Essential oils to include. Once the area has been iced, combine one to two drops of either Helichrysum or Myrrh oil to enough Fractionated Coconut Oil. Frankincense rejuvenates the skin.
