Being sick has been a huge part of my life.

When I'm unwell, which has been often in the last few years, I wonder why!?

I've overcome so much, yet things are happening or changing as I age. Issues I've never had before are occurring.

Limitations:

Food restrictions. I am on a low-fibre diet. Imagine! That is opposite to the popular belief that 'everyone' must be on a high-fibre diet. Even my dietitian asked me how long I would be on this low-fibre diet. Not truly understanding the risk of more bulk in my bowels would cause an obstruction. It's interesting how society believes we must all be on a high-fibre diet.

So, let's think beyond what society 'currently' believes is a norm for everyone.

Fact: Not one size fits all!

We can't all eat the same foods or wear the same size clothes. In addition, our experiences, perceptions, and beliefs create our mental health and physical outcomes from our family unit to peers and those who come into life, such as extended family members, teachers, religious leaders, friends, etc. We are all individuals with different DNA and life experiences. Your experiences and the perceptions of your experiences create differing outcomes of your physical expression, appearances, and emotional understanding of yourself. This is a reflection of how you live in the world.

  • What were the expectations put upon you?

  • Were you set up to fail or succeed?

  • Were you given tools that propelled you forward or barriers to overcoming life's obstacles?

Did you have?

  • Determination

  • Resilience

  • Anger

  • Trepidation

  • Lack the ability to communicate – needs or wants

  • The inability to dream beyond, to see other possibilities

  • Did you know you could dream - beyond – today, tomorrow…?

  • Create limiting beliefs or have none at all?

To not be given the tools or even the beginnings of a toolbox. How does one create it? Does one flounder haphazardly and find one's way?

Where and how do you begin to prepare a way to the finish line = death? Death of the physical form or the death of false beliefs and changing thoughts.

How does one convert suffering and pain into success?

It's a work in progress. A lifetime of discovery. It happens in each moment, day, week, year, etc., when you take an error and make it into an opportunity. The desire to change what and how you live is where possibilities are realized. It's one step at a time, consistently moving forward and embracing the next challenge or opportunity.

To do things just a little differently than you did the day before: from 100 steps a day to 1000 steps a day to 5000 steps a day and beyond. It's a growth, a change towards something better than it was already.

Being in peace and contentment, knowing you are here for a purpose, a reason for living. The purpose is to experience the good and what may be perceived as bad. To overcome and begin again. To learn from your experiences, understand the teachings and bring them forward onto your life's path.

If you believe there is a plan – then plan on becoming much more than you are today. Strive to become whole, complete, content, and healthy.
